The Independence of the United States History

The Independence of the United States of America or Independence Day (also Fourth of July, Fourth of July ') is a holiday, the highest in the United States of America each year 4 July will be celebrated.

It commemorates the signing and effect of The Unanimous Declaration of The Thirteen United States of America ("The unanimous Declaration of Thirteen United States of America ') by the delegates of the Thirteen Colonies.

On this day the Thirteen Colonies were first in the official document referred to as the United States of America '. The document is now considered founding charter and the declaration of its legal force on 4 July 1776 as an act of statehood.

Origin

At the time of signing the Unabhängkeitserklärung led the Thirteen Colonies and the Kingdom of Great Britain to the American Revolutionary War. One goal of the Thirteen Colonies was the self-government and thus the lifting of the colonial status.

Celebration

On the first anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the 4th July 1777, were fired thirteen shots in Bristol, and once each in the morning and evening. Philadelphia celebrated the first anniversary with an official dinner for the Continental Congress, toasts, 13-gun salute, speeches, prayers, music, parades and fireworks. Ships were decked with red, white and blue bunting.

In 1778, George Washington celebrated Independence Day with a double ration of rum for his soldiers and an artillery salute over the Atlantic Ocean for the ambassadors John Adams and Benjamin Franklin, who were at this time in Paris.

In 1783 was listed in Salem the song Psalm of Joy by Johann Friedrich Peter.
Independence Day 1791 the name was first used. In 1820 the first Fourth of July celebration was held in Eastport.

Today marked picnics and patriotic parades, concerts, fireworks and the public showing of the flag of the United States this holiday, many items are decorated in the colors red, white and blue.

Independence Day fireworks are often used by patriotic songs such as the national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, God Bless America, accompanied America the Beautiful, My Country, This Land Is Your Land or Stars and Stripes Forever. In the northeastern United States also is Yankee Doodle, common in the former Confederate Dixie.
